Gymnastics babies become athletes in the future

Your baby, who was tiny at the time of his birth, starts to grow, raise his head, sit, crawl and walk…. In this process and in the future, a way for your baby to have a healthy posture and mental health is through regular gymnastics…

Memorial Hospital Department of Pediatrics Uz. Dr. Abdurrahman Yildirim, "the importance of baby gymnastics" gave information about.

Gymnastics babies walk early than their peers
Gymnastics started in infancy, has a positive effect on both physical and mental development. Sitting, muscle development, hand skills are earlier and stronger than the peers of the exercising babies. Gymnastics also provides coordination between sitting and walking. Since sitting accelerates the baby's standing and walking, gymnastics babies walk earlier than their peers.

The benefits of exercise to infants are not limited to this. Because infants doing gymnastics;

• Physical and mental development is accelerating.
• The baby's joints and muscles develop during gymnastics.
• It has a positive effect on the psychological development between mother and baby.
• Gymnastics, encouraging the baby also helps the development of social development.
• The baby's self-confidence and skills are increasing.
• Since the exercises started during infancy provide muscle strength and muscle development, individuals who adopt sport as a life style and adopt sport as a way of life grow up in childhood.
• Self-confidence and school success of children doing sports or exercising increases during school.
• Children's body structures become more robust and shaped.
• Children do not have sitting position disturbance while sitting in row.
• Strong muscles support joints and bones as their muscles are already strengthened. Scoliosis and kyphosis (spinal deformities) or joint deformities are less common in these children.
Make gymnastics before bath and sleep
It is very important to spend 5-10 minutes each day for gymnastics. It is useful when done 4-5 times a day. Exercises before bath and sleep to comfort the baby help a healthy sleep after bath. The floor where the gymnastics is performed should be a smooth area with bath towels or blankets. It is very important that the baby is naked during the gymnastics or that there is a light garment that will not cause discomfort. The ambient temperature should also be set well. The temperature is sufficient to be 22 to 24 degrees.
The exercise program should not start with heavy and difficult movements that will exhaust the baby and which will operate all the joints and muscles of the body. Exercises should be performed for about two weeks by continuing with slight movements and gradually working the muscles and joints.
Exercises of 2-6 months old babies
Watch out for the first lift!
Lay the baby on your back and keep your thumb with his hands. In the meantime, hold your own fingers to grasp his wrists, and the baby's arms first, then the left arm slowly back up one by one. It is appropriate to start the exercise with these movements. If the arms are not in harmony, this movement can be a bit compelling.
Lay the baby prone and grasp the wrists with the head facing you and your thumb in the palm of your baby. Slowly make the first lift, with very little. Care must be taken to make the first lift without force. The muscles and head of the baby can be done with the help of adults according to their wishes and movements. Head control, especially in infants 2-3. starts after the month. With the application of these exercises, possible nervous system developmental delay can be detected early.

Run your baby's muscles and joints!
Holding the baby's palm and wrist, stretch the right arm to the left and the left arm to the right. Babies' neck and arm muscles to run the parachute reflex movements are called. Open each lever sideways and upwards on its side, then repeat in the opposite direction. The most important points for babies in the first 6 months are the future standing, sitting and operating the hip joints to hold the head. To do this, press the legs towards the abdomen again to do a stretching motion. This movement can be repeated 5 to 10 times. The other movement is that the legs can be made at the same time and one side is pushed towards the abdomen and the other is extended. This movement can also be done 4-5 times a day.
Babies can sit with or without support after 6 months. However, this may happen a little earlier in the 5 months after the exercise. In general, regular exercise babies, 6-7. starts to sit without support in the month. It is ideal to have the exercises performed at a time when the mother is comfortable and calm, accompanied by light music.
Exercises for babies between 6 and 12 months
The number of movements in the 0-6 month period can be increased. Repetitions can be increased to 15 during the day. Compulsive movements should be avoided since the flexibility in the joints of infants decreases after the 6th and 7th months. In a child trying to lift the arms by pushing a little bit of the arm 'click' sound. There is severe pain in the baby, the arm can not move at all, this picture, the radius of the head part of the joint is dislodged. However, with a small maneuver, it can be replaced by a specialist.
Provided that they are kept under the armpits at the initial level, the baby's palm is grasped in the palm of the baby with a thumb after 6 months. The baby swings back and forth and left and right. This movement will provide the baby with a proper body structure.

Children 1 year and older
This is an important exercise for them as children begin to walk after the age of 1. Nevertheless, toys can be used to train certain muscle groups during this period.
The child is laid on his back and held up by the ankle and lifted up slowly until he remains in the space. After hanging for a short time, the child is left in place and repeated. All these movements are performed on a soft surface.
Lay the child in a prone position on his hands and hold his knees and calves with his hands on the floor, and encourage him to walk on his hands. These movements can also be repeated by placing toys over a short distance.
Sports after 4-5 years
Sports, ballet after the age of 4- 5 years, can be preferred in the form of swimming after 5-6 years.
